David L. Troyer

David L. Troyer, 75, of Elkhart, died Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Elkhart General Hospital.

David was born on March 24, 1942 in Arthur, IL to Lewis and Mary (Mast) Troyer. He moved with his family to LaGrange County in 1948, and spent most of his life in the Lagrange area.

David is survived by his wife, Kay A. Troyer, Elkhart; daughter Mary Winfrey (Jerry), LaGrange; step-daughter, Cindy Pendergrass, Mishawaka; step-sons, Robert Buck (Linda), Williamson Pendergrass (Marie), and Clayton Pendergrass, all of Mishawaka; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ada Poynter, Arthur, IL, Alta Hochstetler, Shipshewana, Elnora Miller, Goshen, Sarah Ann Yoder (Leroy), Carbondale, IL, Esther Wingard, Shipshewana, and a brother, Erwin Troyer (Emma), LaGrange.

David was preceded in death by his parents, a step-daughter, June Marie Pendergrass, a sister, Susan Miller Galvin, a brother, Kenneth Troyer, and 5 brothers-in-law, Enos Miller, Clinton Poynter, Joe Miller, Henry Hochstetler, and Mahlon Wingard.

David proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the VFW in Osceola and the American Legion in Goshen. David loved listening to country music. He was a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church. David was also a mechanic and a truck driver.

Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Monday, April 17, 2017 at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home in Elkhart. A memorial service will take place at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the 7th Day Adventist Church, 3601 E. Bristol Street, Elkhart, IN 46514.
