I grew up in Minnesota with Irv. I was a year behind him, but in our small community I spent quite a bit of time with him in church and at school. I fondly remember now some of those conversations and experiences and that smile and laugh. It's great to see the wonderful picture of him on this page. Irv was a great person to relate, too. I'm glad he found the right woman to marry and was so involved in his church and community. It's great to read of his three sons, eight grandchildren and a great-grand child. I can imagine what a loving father and grandfather he was--even as Irv's father was a good natured, caring human being. Glad the love is being passed on in the Stender family from generation to generation. May the Lord God be Praised!

It is with a HEAVY HEART that I write this message. I had the honor & pleasure to work along side Irv for many years during my tenure at HZF in Elkhart. Without question, he taught me about life, compassion, appreciating all things in life (with many stories too share) and sales. The man was incredible! His work ethic was second to none. We all looked up to Irv for guidance as he was like a Father to all of us. It is thru Irv that I met his boys, Little Linda and learned all about proper grass mowing and blade sharpening. My lawn looks like Wrigley Field thanks to Irv! Thank You for letting me cross paths with such an incredible individual. He always made it happen! RIP old friend, I will never forget you.

To Irv's sons and family. I am Irv's first cousin from MN as your Grandma Eldora and my mother Sophia were sisters. My sympathy goes out to you especially losing both parents in a short period of time. It was great to see your Dad and had a good chat with him a couple of times this past year in Wykoff MN. We will keep all of you in our prayers.

To the Family of Irwin Stender,
We moved into the Concord District July of 1988. Concord Little League was the first organization our daughter and son joined. Doug and I followed up with volunteering. One of the first names we knew from Concord Little League was Irwin Stender. He gave so much Heart into the program. He has left this Life, but will Live on in your Hearts and through the dedication to the players, coaches and supporters. May you find comfort and peace.

Our hearts and prayers go out to the Stender Family. Irv was a loyal partner, employee and friend. We figured that he has sold more Fords in his lifetime than anyone in Elkhart County. We would stop by and see him when we were in Elkhart. You did have to make sure you had enough time to spend, as we all know, Irv liked to caring on lengthly conversations (mostly about his beloved family).

Wish we could be there to celebrate his life with all of you.
Sending love and hugs from Florida,
Barb & Gary McAfee

I am so sorry. My husband and I were very good friends of Irv and Linda. I grew up with Linda and we went to the same church. Irv has sold us cars since the 1980's. My husband just passed away in June so they are all together again. I will miss Irv so much for his help in buying a car. You kids have had a hard year. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
