James J Calhoon

James J. “Jim” Calhoon, 70, of Elkhart, passed away at home on Tuesday, October 3, 2017.

Jim was born June 5, 1947 in Wolf Lake, Indiana.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Calhoon and his favorite dog, Sparky.

On October 20, 1989, Jim married Ramona Ehlers.  She survives with two daughters; Teresa (Kelvin) Schroader and Annette (Chris) Hale, both of Kentucky; several grandchildren, one great grandchild and one brother, William Calhoon of Indiana.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.  Jim is also survived by his faithful companion, Spike.

Jim was the foreman for A/C Fabricating and also a veteran of the United States Army, proudly serving his country during Viet Nam.  A huge NASCAR fan, Jim also enjoyed Wheelhorse tractors.

Visitation for Jim will be held on Tuesday October 10, 2017 from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 at the Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home.

The family of Jim requests that memorial contributions in memory of Jim be made to Wounded Warrior Project P O Box 758517 Topeka, KS 66675-8517.
