Janet Smith Obituary

Janet Sue Smith, 57, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at 3:45 p.m. Palm Sunday (March 25, 2018) at Elkhart General Hospital with her loving family and friends by her side.

Janet was born July 19, 1960 in Middletown, Ohio to Robert C. and Sheila R. (Bowman) Abner as Janet Sue Abner.  She is survived by her soul mate and love of her life, Jason Wright, brother, Robert (Christine) Abner, of Gilbert AZ, nieces, Brittney Abner and Abby (Paulina) Abner, and nephew, Garret Abner, all of Elkhart.  She is also survived by her long time best friend of 50 years, Karen Shaffer (Jeff) Nicholas of Indianapolis and her two fur babies Katie and Wrigley.  She is preceded in passing by her parents Robert and Sheila Abner.

Janet volunteered for the Salvation Army as a bell ringer and donated her time at Faith Mission.

Janet was the person that everyone wanted to be around.  She lived life to the fullest and everyone that was fortunate to be around her loved her.  She had joy, she had fun, she had seasons in the sun!
