Kenneth R Malcom

Kenneth R. “Kenny” Malcom, 77, of Middlebury, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Elkhart Hospice House surrounded by his loving family.

Kenny was born on January 29, 1940 in Salem, KY to the late George R. and Imogene (Guess) Malcom.  He was also preceded in death by his oldest brother, James.

On October 6, 2016, he married the love of his life, Jean Stockman in Salem, KY.  She survives along with his daughter, Cherie Chambers of Osprey, FL; a son, Cory Malcom of Goshen; three step-daughters: Jeanette Abner (Corbin) of Edwardsburg, MI; Michele (Christopher) Hembree and Karen (Dennis) Peffley, both of Elkhart; one granddaughter, Delaney Chambers and his siblings: George (Rozann) Malcom of Salem, KY, Janice (Nate) Books, Roy (Joyce) Malcom, Roger Malcom, Gary Malcom and Rick (Carolyn) Malcom, all of Elkhart.

Kenny was the President and Owner of Kencon Specialty Products, a supplier to the Recreational Vehicle, Utility Trailer, Truck Cap and Manufactured Housing Industry.  He was also a veteran of the U. S. Navy, a member of the Faith Community Fellowship, the Viking Ski Club, the Moose Lodge #599 and the V. F. W.  Kenny was also an avid golfer.  His quick wit and fun- loving sense of humor, endeared him to many.  He will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him.

Visitation for Kenny will be held on Monday, October 30 from 2 until 6 at the Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home.  A Celebration of Life will begin at 6, also at the funeral home with the Rev. Keith McFarren officiating.  Burial will take place in Loveless Chapel Cemetery in Salem, KY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Kenny may be made to the Center for Hospice Care 501 Comfort Place Mishawaka, IN 46545.

The family would like to thank the staff at Elkhart Hospice House for the compassion and care they gave to Kenny during his stay.  Your kindness will never be forgotten.
