Lois M (Helmlinger) Doty

Lois M.  Doty, 96, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday morning, December 3, 2017.  She has now joined her daughter, Janette Blocher, her son Randy Doty and her granddaughter, Mandi Deputy in Heaven.

Lois was born in Elkhart on September 8, 1921 to the late Laurel and Minnie (Perry) Helmlinger.  She was also preceded in death by a brother, Richard Helmlinger and a son-in-law, Dennis Blocher.

Surviving are two daughters; Marcy Hoogenboom of Elkhart, Dannielle (Donald) Hudler of Charlotte, NC; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and her loving companion of over fifty years, Tom Battler also of Elkhart.

Lois was employed for many years in the office of Battler Industries.  A Jimtown High School graduate, Lois dedicated her life to her home, her children and her grandchildren.

Private family services will be held and burial will be in Prairie Street Cemetery.  Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Lois may be made to the Humane Society of Elkhart County 54687 C. R. 19 Bristol, IN 46507.
