Robert T. “Bob” Ronk, 84, of Elkhart, died Monday, October 17, 2016 at Elkhart General Hospital.
Bob was born on November 15, 1931 in Meyersdale, PA to Willis E. and Helen (Brandenburg) Ronk. On November 22, 1956 he married Marilyn Manning in Muncie, IN. She survives.
Bob is also survived by daughters, Lori (Rick) LeVan, Marietta, GA and Susan (Jeff) Curry, Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Hannah Curry, and Meredith and Katie LeVan.
Bob was preceded in death by a sister Helen Manville, and a brother, Ivan Ronk.
Bob was a 1950 graduate of Goshen High School. He also graduated from Ball State University, where he earned his BS in Education and his Master’s as an Administrative Specialist.
Bob was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army
In 1957, Bob began his employment with the Elkhart Community School System at North Side Middle School, where he taught math. In 1969, he became the Assistant principal at Brookdale School where he remained until 1974. In 1975 he took the position as Principal at Pierre Moran Middle School until 1993. He was awarded Indiana Middle School Principal of the Year.
Bob was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Christiana Creek Country Club, and a former member of Lions Club.
Friends may call from 3 pm until 5 pm, Friday, October 21, at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home and for an hour prior to the 11 am memorial service, Saturday, October 22 at Trinity United Methodist Church.
