Stephen Paul Brownewell

Stephen Paul Brownewell, 63, of Elkhart, died on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Elkhart Hospice House.              

 Stephen was born January 27, 1954 in Elkhart to Charles E. and Elizabeth (Ginther) Brownewell III.  He was preceded in death by his father.

 He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth “Bette” Brownewell of Elkhart and two brothers, Charles E. Brownewell IV of Elkhart and Timothy D. (Kelli) Brownewell of Racine, WI.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

 Stephen attended First Presbyterian Church in Elkhart.  He loved listening to music, drinking coffee and he enjoyed being outside, surrounded by nature’s gifts. 

The family is extremely grateful to ADEC for everything they have done, all of the Direct Support Professionals at Stephen’s group home on Foster Ave. and Steve’s medical providers who have cared for him throughout the years.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 27 at the First Presbyterian Church in Elkhart.  The Rev. Rebecca Kuiken will officiate.  Private family burial will be held at the First Presbyterian Church Memorial Gardens.  Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to A.D.E.C. 19670 State Road 120 Bristol, IN 46507 or to the Center for Hospice Care 501 Comfort Place Mishawaka, IN 46545.
