Welcome to the memorial page for

Jacqueline M Finfrock

August 20, 1923 ~ July 28, 2017 (age 93) 93 Years Old

Jacqueline Marie Finfrock, long-time resident of Elkhart, Indiana, died peacefully at home on Friday, July 28, 2017 after valiantly fighting cancer for three years

Born in North Pembroke, Massachusetts in 1923, Jacqueline grew up in Maine, graduated from Goodwill in Hinkley, ME and Maine General Nursing School.   She met and married Dr. James “Jim” Finfrock in Boston in 1947.

Jacqueline is survived by three children; Janis (Michael) Ribolla, Judith Finfrock and Jeffrey (Susan) Finfrock.  Also surviving are five grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one great great grandson.  Sadly, Jacqueline was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Jean Lefforge and a grandson, David.

Jacqueline was one of 12 children, only three of whom survived and that reflects her strong spirit and will to live.  She followed her husband through his career in the military and four children later, the family moved to Elkhart.  During her 59 year marriage, Jacqueline travelled extensively, both abroad and at home, enjoying experiences from white water rafting the Colorado to walking the Great Wall of China.  Jacqueline had a lovely singing voice and often serenaded her children with 1940’s tunes.  Jacqueline liked an orderly and clean house and was known for removing food from the dinner table before everyone even finished, prompting her children to call her Mrs. Clean.  Jacqueline had a wide circle of beloved friends with whom she quilted, sewed, crocheted and did needlepoint.  At the end of her life, she had several caregivers for whom she deeply cared.

A memorial to honor her will be held at a later date.
