Jared K. Foltz, 20, of Elkhart, died Sunday, May 28, 2017 in Elkhart.

Jared was born on May 27, 1997 in Elkhart to Jack K. and Dorry D. (Soard) Foltz II.

He is survived by his parents, Jack and Dorry Foltz II, Elkhart; sister, Rylee A. Foltz, Elkhart; grandparents, Jack F. and Betty J. Foltz, Elkhart, and Diana Soard, Elkhart; aunt Lisa Foltz, AZ, uncle; Troy (Shannon) Foltz, AZ and aunt Lynn and uncle Jim Foltz of Goshen and cousins Traig Foltz and Andy Reed and uncle Kevin Bailey of Michigan and cousins Rachel (Bailey) White and Colin Bailey.

He was preceded in death by an aunt Darcy Bailey, and grandfather, Douglas Soard.

Jared had previously worked as a line cook for Bacon Hill Kitchen and Pub and Pool Tables Plus.

Jared was a former member of the Boy Scouts. He enjoyed Tae Kwon Do, wrestling, playing football and motorcycles.  Nothing made Jared happier than spending time with his friends. His sense of humor and infectious smile will be missed by all.  He was always willing to help others.  Let his senseless, tragic death have a purpose to redirect humanity.

Friends may call from 4 pm until 8 pm, Friday, June 2, 2017 at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11 am, Saturday, June 3, 2017 at the funeral home. The Rev. Elizabeth Harbin of First Congregational Church will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to United Cancer Services of Elkhart County or the Elkhart County Humane Society.
