Joyce M. Conway, 80, of Elkhart, died on Thursday, July 4, 2019 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Wakarusa, IN.
Joyce was born March 28, 1939 in Chicago, IL to the late Leo and Ruth (Tiefenthal) St. Jacques. Also preceding her in death are a sister, Joanie St. Jacques and Max, her beloved yellow lab.
On March 26, 1976, Joyce married William G. Conway Jr. in White Pigeon, MI. He survives along with two daughters; Denise “Dee Dee” (Lonny) Faust and Autumn (Doug) Williams and one son, Michael (Tabitha) Kiner, all of Elkhart; nine grandchildren: Jessica, Justin, Jenni, Leslie, Melissa, Jana, Matthew, Heather and Katie; twenty-four great grandchildren; a sister, Sandra (Ron)Kiner of Union, MI. She also leaves behind her beloved dogs, Duke and Cookie and her best friend, Kay Nunemaker.
Joyce was employed for many years as an executive secretary for several R.V. manufacturing companies. She also worked in retail for several years until her retirement.
Joyce was a loving and giving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed her family and looked forward to family gatherings. As a child in Chicago, she became a diehard Cubs fan joining her aunt and uncle at Wrigley’s Field. She enjoyed crafts, sewing and crocheting. She loved her Young and Restless, Heartland and the Hallmark channel. She loved RVing, providing it was in a motorhome. Joyce was also very active in her churches in California and Texas prior to moving back to Indiana in 1993.
Visitation for Joyce will be held on Tuesday, July 9th from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at noon at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeff Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Plum Grove Cemetery in Union, MI.
