Kevin R. Wheeler 61, of Elkhart, has ended his eleven year long battle of suffering and pain with throat cancer. He passed away Monday July 2, 2018 at 6:46 P.M. at home with his family at his side.
Kevin was born March 13, 1957 in Elkhart to the Richard and Sharon (Eagon) Cook. On April 1,1996 he married Sue Mitchell in Las Vegas. She survives him along with son Mitchell of Elkhart, mother Sharon Milliman of Constantine, MI, sister Kathy Wheeler of Mexico and uncle Jerry Eagon of Elkhart. Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Richard Cook and his step-father, Ralph Wheeler.
He was an avid fisherman throughout his life. One of his greatest passions was motorcycles. So much so that he and his best buddy built a chopper from scratch. Kevin had been employed by Keystone R.V. and most recently with Dutchman R.V. as an electrician.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 P.M. Friday, July 6th at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 7th at 10:00 a.m. at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home with burial following at Rice Cemetery. The Rev. Keith McFarren will officiate.
