Michael L. Minichillo, 87, of Elkhart, died Wednesday morning, July 25, 2018 at Elkhart General Hospital.
Mike was born May 31, 1931 in Elkhart to the late Dominic and Thomasine (Lambo) Minichillo. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Sanita Roberto, four brothers; Anthony Roberto, Nicholas, Matthew, and Pat “Hammer” Minichillo, three nephews, Paige Roberto, Steve and Mark Minichillo and two nieces; Lynn Minichillo and JoAnne Roberto.
He is survived by two brothers, Robert (Lucy) Minichillo of Danville, KY and Ronald (Candace) Minichillo of Bristol and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mike was employed at CTS from 1952 until his retirement in 2010. He retired as the warehouse supervisor. He was a member of: St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, the Italian American Relief Association (IARA), United Auto Workers Local #941 and was a former member of the Elkhart Moose Lodge #599. From the age of eight until he was seventeen, Mike was a caddy at Christiana Creek Country Club. He also golfed in the CTS golf league, was an avid bowler and loved to read. But, Mike’s favorite thing in the world to do was watch television, especially sports!
Visitation for Mike will be on Sunday, July 29th from 2 until 5 at the Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home. Friends may also call one hour prior to the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Monday, July 30th at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church. The Rev. Patrick Hake will officiate and burial will be in St. Vincent Cemetery, Elkhart.
Mike’s family would like to thank his caregiver, Tecya Rynearson for the care and devotion given to Mike over the past few years.
