Paul W Sheibley

Paul W. Sheibley, 86, of Elkhart passed away on Monday, May 13, 2019 at Eastlake Terrace in Elkhart.

He was born in Ft. Wayne, IN on September 17, 1932 to the late Larry F. and Winifred (Gladeaux) Sheibley.

On September 15, 1956 Paul married Mary C. Ward.  She died on May 13, 2017.  Surviving are two daughters; Paula L. Sheibley of Elkhart and Debra J. (John) Hulewicz of Goshen; one grandson, Jacob P. Hulewicz of Goshen and one sister, Patricia (Bill) Unger of Granger.

Paul graduated from Elkhart High School in 1950 and from the University of Notre Dame in 1954.  He served with the United States Army in Japan during the Korean War.  He returned home and worked at Bendix/Allied Signal for 34 years, retiring as a senior accountant.

He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and was a past member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1043 in Elkhart, the Elks Lodge #235 in South Bend, the American Legion Post #143 in Bristol, Bendix Senior Management Club, National Management Association, National Association of Accountants, Notre Dame Quarterback Club, Notre Dame Club of St. Joseph Valley and the Notre Dame Alumni Association.

Paul enjoyed everything Notre Dame, boating on the St. Joseph River and Long Lake, doing puzzles but more importantly, spending time with his family and especially his grandson, Jacob.

Visitation for Paul will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held immediately following visitation at 2:00 at the funeral home with the Rev. Jason Freiburger officiating.  Burial will be in St. Vincent Cemetery in Elkhart.
