Mary Ann Noreus, 73, of Elkhart, passed away at 2:30 a.m. Thurs., Aug. 15, 2013 in Elkhart, Indiana. Mary was born June 6, 1940 in Cloquet, MN to Robertson Edward and Jane (Wilson) Noreus. She is survived by a brother, William (Diane) Noreus of Zachary, LA; a brother in law, Raymond Stutsman of Elkhart; nieces and nephews, Jayne Steed, Anne Gee, Cindi Sinkula, Corey Stutsman, Jennifer Purkey, Robertson Noreus; and great-nieces and nephews, Lauren, Jaclyn, Taylor, Samantha, Jessie, Charlotte, Leo, Miles, Lucia, Lindsay, Riley and Will. She was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Stutsman. Mary attended Purdue University then received her bachelor's degree at the University of Minnesota. She was a Media Specialist for the St. Paul, Minnesota school system. Mary was a devoted and active member of First Church of Christ Scientist, where she was a reader and played the piano for Sunday school and Church services. Her involvement at First Church of Christ Scientist was an important part of her life. She was also a member of P.E.O., Quester, Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women, and the Elkhart County Homemakers Club. She enjoyed antiques, golfing, gardening; she loved being outside and nature. Friends may call from 2 p.m. until the 3 p.m. memorial service on Thurs., Aug. 22, 2013 at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home. Jim Champagne will officiate.
