Andrew McClelland Kirk, 57, of Vandalia, MI, formerly of Elkhart, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024, in Grantsburg, WI.

Andrew was born October 17, 1966, in Abington, PA to Charles and Barbara (McClelland) Kirk.  Andy grew up in Elkhart, IN and attended Elkhart Central High School.  He also attended Indiana University in Bloomington and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in History in 1992.

He is survived by his son, Phillip Elswick, two grandchildren; Aiden and Avery Elswick, all of Elkhart; his father and stepmother, Charles and Celia Kirk of Bristol; sisters Sarah Farris of Goshen and Jody Carrithers of Westland, MI as well as five nephews.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara McClelland Kirk, maternal grandparents, Donald and Jane McClelland and paternal grandparents, Leo Kirk and Esther Akins.

Andy was a kind-hearted soul who would give the shirt off his back if he felt another needed it.  He loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, road trips, American and World history and good music.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home on Monday, April 1, 2024, from 5 until 7 pm.  A prayer service will be led by Pastor Chris Garner beginning at 6:30 pm at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Akron, OH on Wednesday, April 3rd, 2024, at 10:00 am.  He will be laid to rest with his mother and maternal grandparents.
