Arthur Woods Jr., 75, of Elkhart, passed away at home on Saturday, January 7, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born May 27, 1947, in Mason, TN to Arthur and Lula Mae (Jones).  He was preceded in death by his father and a son, Bobby Wayne Woods.

On January 11, 2002, Arthur married Wanda Bratcher in Elkhart. She survives along with his mother, Lula Woods of Elkhart; five sons: Cartez Woods of WI, Terry Lee Woods of Covington, TN, Antoine Johnson of Mishawaka, Darrius Woods of Elkhart and Derrell Woods of Marion, IN; three brothers: Willie L. (Mary) Woods and William E. (Julia) Woods, both of Elkhart and Walter L. Woods of Goshen; four sisters; Edna M. Redmond, Gloria J. Woods, Marguerite (Antoine) Woods Fowler and Flora Diane (Nathan) Woods Harris, all of Elkhart.  Also surviving is a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.

Arthur was employed by Goshen Rubber for 18 years before he started his own remodeling company, which he operated for several years.  He then worked for several years as a welder in the RV/MH industry.  He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Visitation for Arthur will be held on Saturday, January 14th from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at noon at Community Missionary Baptist Church in Elkhart.  The Rev. Clarence Jones will officiate, and burial will be at a later date at Rice Cemetery.  Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
