Barbara A. Miller, 90, of Elkhart, died Friday, March 3, 2017 at home surrounded by family.

Barbara was born on February 25, 1927 in Elkhart to John George and Margaret E. (Hammock) Erickson. She married Charles N. Miller, Jr. He preceded her in death on December 28, 1978.

Barbara is survived by daughters Kathleen A. Miller, Nancy J. Tinder (Randy), Lori J. Howard, and Amy E. Miller (Gina Iannarelli); son, Charles N. Miller (Brenda). She was known as Granny to 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by sisters Mary Lentz, Eleanor Zornow, and Evelyn Reed, and a brother John G. Erickson. Barbara was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing Bridge for 60 plus years with the same group of girls. She loved playing BINGO with her daughter Kathy, and entertaining family and friends. She volunteered at Elkhart General Hospital, and had a special place in her heart for special needs children. Barbara had a vibrant sense of humor.

Friends may call from 4 pm until 7 pm, Monday, March 6, 2017 at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11 am Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Augustana Lutheran Church, 1133 Kilbourn Street, Elkhart, with Reverend Steve Reshan officiating. Burial will follow at Rice Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Augustana Lutheran Church, Riverview Adult Daycare Center, or Anne's Kits for Kids.
