Beatrice M. Stamper, 98, of Elkhart, died on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Valley View Healthcare Center in Elkhart.

She was born January 5, 1921 in Williamsville, MI to the late James A. and Myrtle F. (Lucas) Cannon.  She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Burton and Clarence Lucas.

As Beatrice Cannon she married Clint D. Stamper on February 8, 1954 in South Bend.  Clint died on April 2, 1995.  Surviving is a son, Arthur A. "Tony" Johnson of Compton, CA and one grandson.

Beatrice has lived in Elkhart since 1954 and graduated from South Bend Washington High School.  She was a homemaker and also worked in the laundry business for many years.  Beatrice also attended Canaan Baptist Church.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 30th at the Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home where services will be held at 11 a.m.  Pastor Trent Avance will officiate and Beatrice will be laid to rest next to her husband in Rice Cemetery in Elkhart.
