Carol L. Bailey Holtz, 90, of St. Louis, MO, formerly of Elkhart, IN passed away peacefully Aug. 7, 2017 at her home.

Born January 15, 1927 in Elkhart, IN to the late Sanford E. and Geraldine L.(Fetters) Bailey.

Carol is survived by 12 children; daughters Letitia (John) Kampwirth- Cohoon of Cloverdale, MI, Cecilia (Randy) Hayes of Elkhart, Monica (Daniel) Swygart of Cincinnati, OH and Amelia (Wade) Patrick of St. Louis, MO; sons Donald (Patty), Peter (Susie), and David (DeeDee) all of Indianapolis, Christopher (Jean) of Cambridge, MD, Jonathan (Winnette) Vancouver, WA, Jim (Dawn), and Andrew, both of Mishawaka, and Daniel of Elkhart, 39 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. A son, Mark Anthony preceded her in death.

She is also survived by her sister, Audrey (Richard) Lock of Prescott, AZ and many nieces and nephews.

Carol was a homemaker for many years, and then employed at the Elkhart License Bureau and Elkhart Memorial High School.

After raising her family in Elkhart she lived in several places; Chicago, IL Moorpark, CA, and Prescott, AZ before settling in St. Louis, MO.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 5:30 to 7:30pm at the Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home where the Holy Rosary will be prayed at 7:00pm.  The funeral is planned for Friday, August 25, 2017, 11:00am at St. Thomas the Apostle church.  Internment will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery, Elkhart.

Memorial donations made be made to St. Thomas the Apostle School or the charity of ones choice.
