Carolyn B. Miller, 95, of Wakarusa, died Saturday April 30, 2016 at Millers Merry Manor in Wakarusa. She was born December 29, 1920 in Fairfield, Illinois to Issac V. and Ethel L. (Beck) Brock. She married Casey J. Nowakowski, the father of her children, on December 22, 1944. He preceded her in death on December 2, 1985. She then married Richard E. Miller on August 30, 1986. He preceded her in death on August 29, 2011. Carolyn was an executive secretary at Miles Lab for 12 years. She then served in the same capacity at the YWCA for 14 years, retiring in 1985. First and foremost, she loved being a Grandma. She was a member of Central Christian Church, a fan of the arts, a great seamstress, loved to travel, and enjoyed playing bridge. Carolyn is survived by her daughters: Janet Artley (Daniel) of Goshen, Barbara Hagenbach of Bloomfield Hills, MI, Step Daughter: Patricia Ann Essenwein (Mark) of Elkhart, 8 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters. Friends may call from 11 am until the 12 pm (Noon) service Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home with Pastor Ed Geleske officiating.
