Darcy Lynne Simmons-Eby, 62, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at her home in White Pigeon, MI that she shared with her son Taylor and her three precious grandchildren. She had been in failing health for the last ten years after having had several surgeries.

She was born on Monday, February 10, 1964, in Elkhart to Walter W. and Darlene R. (Padgett) Simmons. She was preceded in death by her dad, a brother Trace and her husband, Dan as well as her grandparents, two aunts, two uncles and two cousins.

Darcy is survived by her three children: P. Taylor Eby of White Pigeon, Evan A. (Devon) Eby of Fishers, IN and Lynne A. Eby of Elkhart and her three loving grandchildren; Maverick, Kizer and Miley. Also surviving is her mother, Darlene Dornbrook of Middlebury, two brothers; W. Scott Simmons of Middlebury and Bradley (Rose) Simmons of Elkhart along with aunts, uncles and many cousins.

For many years, Darcy worked in the banking industry. Most recently, she had worked as a bookkeeper for Angola Canvas in Angola, IN. Darcy was an avid Indiana University basketball fan as well as a St. Louis Cardinal fan. She was also a fan of cooking shows on television, always wanting to learn more and experiment with cooking. Darcy was also a 1982 graduate of Elkhart Central High School.

At Darcy’s request, private family services will be held. Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
