David J. Krauss, 71, of Elkhart, died unexpectedly at Elkhart General Hospital on Monday, March 7, 2016. David was born on June 21, 1944 in Nashville, TN to James and Ruth (Miller) Krauss. On October 17, 1970, David married the former Christine Roth in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Elkhart. Surviving is his wife of 45 years, a son, Jason Krauss, who lives at home; a daughter, Angie Krauss of Elkhart; four grandchildren: Ashley Johnson (Samuel Hamilton), Matthew Krauss, Abigail Krauss and Brody Bertrand and one great granddaughter, Khloe. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Joey Krauss. David was a retired lumber broker and a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Of all the things important to David, nothing meant more to him than his family and his faith. Private family services for David will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Vincent Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home.
