David L. Lyon, 51, of Elkhart, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022 at Elkhart General Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born June 3, 1970 in Elkhart to the late Larry and Patricia (Doepker) Lyon.

David married his love Michelle M. Smolinski on November 5, 2005 in Elkhart.  She survives along with three sons; Matthew, Joshua and Andrew Lyon, all of Elkhart: two daughters; Hannah Lyon of Elkhart and Lauren Carruthers of South Bend; one brother, Michael (Christina) Lyon of Kaukauna, WI and four sisters; Kelley Lyon, Trina (Jerry) Crone, Karen Coulter and Cindy McCord, all of Elkhart.  David will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews.

David was employed by Tuscany Motor Coach as an accountant.  He was a graduate of Indiana University, a member of the Michiana Jeep Club and enjoyed both tasting and collecting bourbon.  He loved his great dane and tolerated the cats in his house.  Most of all, Dave loved family game nights!  It was a chance for his kids to relax and be themselves.

Visitation for David will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home.  Cremation has taken place.
