Delores June Mahaffa, 88, of Elkhart, died Monday, February 20, 2017 at Life Care Center, LaGrange. Delores was born on September 27, 1928 in Elkhart to Peter and Cleo (Harter) Shaffer. On September 30, 1946, she married Edward Nelson Mahaffa in Rossville, GA. He survives. Delores is also survived by daughter, Pat Hashberger (Bob); sons, Jim and Bob Mahaffa; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and sisters-in-law Audrey Shaffer and Barb Shaffer. Delores was preceded in death by brothers, Robert, William, and Jack Shaffer.

Delores was a member of the Riverview General Baptist Church. She was a dedicated grandmother, and enjoyed cooking, and feeding her family. Delores was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary with the Osolo Volunteer Fire Department.

Friends may call from 4 pm until 8 pm, Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1 pm, Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Riverview General Baptist Church, with Reverend Rick Pirtle officiating. Burial will follow at Olive West Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Osolo Fire Department and Riverview General Baptist Church Food Pantry.
