Dessie Marie Yancey, 80, of Elkhart, died Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Riverside Village.

Dessie was born on May 22, 1936 in Warsaw to Theodore O. and Martha M. (Sherer) Dean.

Dessie is survived by daughters, Donna Marie (Robert) Gray-Reznikov, Vicki M. (Jordy) Stern, Duenna M. (Conrad) Greer, and Dana M. (Alan) Hummer; sons Robin A. Gray, and Tracey W. (Doreen) Crowley; 21 grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren, and a brother, Robert E. Dean.

Dessie was preceded in death by her parents, and two grandchildren.

Dessie was a former Brownie and Blue Bird leader while living in Argos. She was employed as a cab driver in Toledo, OH, a nurse at the Toledo State Hospital, and most importantly a homemaker.

Friends may call from 10 am until the 11 am funeral service, Friday, November 4, 2016 at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery.
