Donald P. Mann Sr., 81, of Elkhart, died on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Elkhart General Hospital.

Don was born on July 24, 1939 in Elkhart to the late William H. and Myrtis M. (Pletcher) Mann.  Also preceding him in death was a brother, Richard Mann.

On June 29, 1958 he married Jacqueline "Jackie" Herrli in Elkhart.  Together they shared 62 years of marriage.  She survives along with two daughters; Jodi Mann (Nadine Zerger, his "adopted" daughter) of Goshen and Jill "J.J." Mann of Elkhart; one son, Donald P. Mann Jr. (Scott Stockholm) of Atlanta, GA and his sister, Phyllis (Maynard) Weaver of Goshen.

Don was employed for many years as a plumber and steamfitter with Local 166 in Fort Wayne prior to his retirement in 2003.  He was a 1957 graduate of Elkhart High School and a longtime member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Elkhart where he also served as a Trustee.  Everyone knew that if there was something that needed to be done at church, Don was the "Mann" to call. When not in Elkhart, Don was the ultimate Snowbird soaking up the white sands of Siesta Key, Florida.

Due to covid restrictions we did not feel comfortable gathering in groups to honor his life with friends and family.  We are ready! The Mann family invites you to join us for a Celebration of Life event on Saturday, July 31.  First, a short service will be held at Calvary United Methodist Church 2222 W. Indiana Ave. Elkhart, IN 46516, at 1:00 p.m. The service will be informal so feel free to wear comfortable, casual clothing or something that reminds you of Don. Immediately following (approximately 2:30-3:00 P.M.) we will migrate to the home of Jodi & Nadine for tents, a food truck, fun and fellowship.  Dad, Uncle Don and friend Don loved to gather his friends and family.  We would love to have you stop by to share some fun "Don Mann" stories, a hug or to just say "Hi".  Contact one of us for location. Come party with us as that's how Don would want to be remembered.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Don may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church at 2222 West Indiana Avenue, Elkhart, Indiana 46516.
