Donald G. Speicher, 83, of Elkhart died Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Hubbard Hill Estates. Donald was born on September 7, 1932 in Elkhart County to William L. and Mabel F. (Walton) Speicher. On October 18, 1958 he married Beverly J. Cripe. She preceded him in death on May 12, 1999. On September 23, 2000 he married Bonnie Morgan. She survives. Donald is also survived by daughters Brenda S. Howard (Jay), Indianapolis, Bonean (William) Gore, Churubusco, IN; sons, Craig A. Speicher (Susan), Florence, KY, Randall G. Speicher (Karin), Mishawaka, Brent (Kathleen) Sonner, Nappanee, William (Lori) Sonner, Noblesville; 19 Grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; Sisters, Evelyn McGlasson (Jack), Millersburg, Polly Ann Stroh, Anderson, SC, and a brother John (Carolyn) Speicher, Elkhart. He was preceded by a brother, Reverend Wayne Speicher. Donald was a veteran of the US Army. He was an active member of Zion Missionary Church where he served as the financial secretary and the finance committee chair. Don was also a church board member serving two and a half years as the chairman. He was employed with NIPSCO and a Senior District Engineer prior to retiring on February 28, 1990. He was a member of Elkhart County Exchange Club. Friends may call from 2pm until 4 pm, Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home and for an hour prior to the 11 am service, Monday, July 25, 2016 at Zion Missionary Church with the Reverend Phil Whetstone officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Zion Missionary Church or the Wheelchair Van Fund at Hubbard Hill Estates.
