F. Pauline Padgett, 97, of Elkhart, passed on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Creekside Village in Mishawaka, In.

Pauline was born the daughter of Earl and Luetta Barrick, in Elkhart, on August 19, 1920.  She grew up in the Dunlap area and went to Concord High School.

On May 13, 1939, she married David M. Padgett, Sr.  They had 60 years together before Dave passed in March 1999.

Surviving are their children:  David M. Padgett, Jr. (Mary Germinder), Edwardsburg, MI, Darlene R. Dornbrook, Elkhart, Ronald W. Padgett (Joyce), Goshen, Donald L. Padgett (Mollie), Elkhart, Jeanne A. Lape, Warsaw, IN, and Bonnie Nofen, Gilbert, AZ. Other survivors include:  25 Grandchildren, 50 some Great Grandchildren, several Great-Great Grandchildren, Sister, Gladys Petrie, Conway, PA, Sister in law, Retha Barrick, Osceola, IN. and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband David, Daughters, Sharon K. Leist and Carol Rowe, 2 Grandchildren, and her Brothers:  Robert, Charles, Wilbur, and Stanley Barrick.

Pauline worked at Elkhart Packing (Plum Rose) for 30 years, retiring in 1976.  She was a member of The Goshen Church of Christ.

From Pauline's own words, "with the Lord's help and many prayers and tears", she and Dave were able to raise and were very proud of their loving and thoughtful family.

We wish to thank the staff of Creekside Village for caring for Mom these last few months.

Visitation is Sunday, January 21, 2018, from 2-5 PM at Hartzler Gutermuth Inman Funeral Home.  Funeral Services are Monday, January 22, 2018, at 10 AM at the Funeral Home with Dennis Petrie officiating.  Burial is in Prairie Street Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Heart to Heart Hospice.
