Floyd E. Hearld, 68, of Elkhart, died Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Elkhart General Hospital. Floyd was born on December 15, 1947 in Coldwater, MI to Junior Max and Bertha Marie (Mason) Hearld.  On September 4, 1987 he married Bonnie Hearld. She survives.

Floyd is survived by daughters, Melinda Slabaugh (Michael Bledsoe), Goshen, and Brandy (Jared) Billotte, Ford City, PA; mother, Bertha Hearld, Coldwater, MI; step-daughters, Melissa (Eric) Wilson, Athens, MI, and Angela Hamilton, Kalamazoo, MI; step- son, Tim (Dana) Hamilton, Elkhart; a brother, Ivan (Rita) Hearld, Edwardsburg, MI; sisters, Joyce Brown and Susan (Cliff) Lape, Coldwater, MI; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Floyd was preceded in death by his father, Junior Max Hearld; brother, Edward Em Hearld; brothers-in-law, Lee Brown and Jack Aldrich, Jr.; father-in-law, Jack Aldrich, Sr.; step-daughter, Tina Hamilton, and a granddaughter, Jessica Hamilton.

Floyd was a Vietnam Veteran. He was employed as a welder with Goshen Coach. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, racing, and camping. He especially liked to spend time with his brothers in arms.

Friends may call from 12 pm until the 1 pm, funeral service, Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home with Pastor Harold Jewell officiating. Burial with full military honors will be rendered at Prairie Street Cemetery.
