Frederick C. "Fred" Zimmermann II, 71, of Elkhart, died on Sunday, March 8, 2020 unexpectedly at home.

Fred was born on September 1, 1948 in Elkhart, IN to the late Frederick C. and Irene  Zimmermann.  He was also preceded in death by a sister, Barbara VanGoey.

He married Cynthia A. Cook and she died January 14, 2016.  Surviving are three sons: Dustin and Chris Zimmermann, both of Elkhart; Shawn Zimmermann of Wabash, IN and two grandchildren, Taylor and Austin Zimmermann.

Fred recently retired from Native Hardwoods where he worked in sales.  However, he was unable to stay retired for too long and began doing some consulting work for them.  He was a Master Mason belonging to the Kane Lodge #183 and also a 33 degree Scottish Rite Mason.  Fred was also a die-hard Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan.

Visitation for Fred will be held on Thursday, March 12th from 3 until 6 pm at the Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home.  A Masonic Service will be held at 6 pm and a memorial service will begin immediately following.  Interment will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens at a later date.
