Gerald D. Sassaman, 82, of Elkhart, died on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Elkhart General Hospital.

Gerald was born June 26, 1940 in Constantine, MI to the late Bruce and LaVonne (Spencer) Sassaman.  Also preceding him in death are a son, Troy Sassaman, a sister, Phyllis Laird and a brother, Kenneth Sassaman.

In 1962, Gerald married Tokalee Roberto in Elkhart.  She survives along with a son, Anthony Sassaman of Ft. Myers, FL; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Gerald retired from Adams-Westlake where he had worked as a machinist.  He was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church and enjoyed golfing and fishing.  Gerald was known for being a jokester and loved nothing more than putting a smile on someone's face.

There will be no services or visitation as Gerald wished to be cremated.  Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
