Gladys Ruth DeLess, 103 of Elkhart, passed away on Fri., April 12, 2013, at Greenleaf Living Center.
She was born Feb. 3, 1910 in Clayton, IL to the late Henry Eli and Jennie Ruth (Clark) Cutforth.
Gladys graduated from Clayton High School in 1928. She married Don DeLess in 1930, and together they made their home in Green Bay, WI where Gladys lived until she moved to Elkhart in 2007. In Green Bay, Gladys was an active member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. Gladys volunteered for many years in the gift shop at Bellin Hospital, 'retiring' at the age of 92. She enjoyed playing bridge and was a loyal Green Bay Packers fan. She was a life long caregiver, offering a gentle touch and kind word to people many years her junior. She was a living example on how to age gracefully to all who knew her.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brother and sister.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory one daughter, Ruth Ann (Jack) Seaver; three grandchildren, Philip, Boston, MA. Laura (Bill) Eisler, Carmel, IN, Tracy, Chicago, IL and dear friend, Mary Ann Koeller, Green Bay, WI.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 5:00 p.m., Tues., April 16, 2013, at Hartzler Gutermuth Inman Funeral Home, with the Major Steve Woodard officiating.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Green Bay, WI at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Green Bay, WI, The Salvation Army of Elkhart or The First Presbyterian Church of Elkhart.
