Gloria U. White, 84, of Lafayette and formerly of Elkhart, died Saturday, March 4, 2017 at St. Mary's Health Care, Lafayette.

Gloria was born on July 16, 1932 in Bippus, IN to Harry P. and Gertrude A. (DeShone) Urschel. She married Ernest B. White. He preceded her in death along with a daughter Cynthia J. White, a sister, Joy D. Hicks, and a brother, Harry P. Urschel, Jr.

Gloria is survived by a daughter Catherine J. Went, Lafayette, son, Christen J. White, Sr. (Susan), Romulus, MI, and a granddaughter, Elizabeth C. Went, Lafayette.

Gloria was employed with Bayer Pharmaceuticals as a clerk in the marketing department until her retirement in 2000. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.

Friends may call from 4 pm until 7 pm, Friday, March 10, 2017 at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11 am, Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to the Great Lakes Hospice and St. Mary's Health Care, Lafayette.
