Gracielee Ann Platt, 84, of Goshen, formerly of Bristol passed away unexpectedly  on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Goshen Hospital.

She was born December 30, 1936 in Gary, IN to the late Harold and Grace (Barrow) James.  Also preceding her in death was a sister, Patricia M. James and a step-daughter, Karen L. (Platt) Eichhorn.

As Gracielee James, she married Donald L. Matz on September 14, 1957.  Don died on September 30, 1989.  She then married Harold D. Platt Jr. on January 11, 1991.  He survives along with four children: Dan L. (Wendy) Matz of Elkhart, Jeff B. (Tammy) Matz of Niceville, FL, LuAnne M. (Patrick) VanKirk of Cassopolis, MI, Patti J. (David) Pittman of Bristol and a stepson Kirk D. Platt of Goshen; sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

Gracielee graduated from Southwestern Michigan University with a degree in nursing and was employed for many years at Elkhart General Hospital.  After retiring she became a hospital auxiliary volunteer for several years.  She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she was a spiritual leader in their Christ Care program.  She was also a member of the PEO sisterhood.  She enjoyed flowers, playing bridge, boating and traveling.  Gracielee loved her family and spending time with them.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 12:00 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church 2715 E. Jackson Blvd. Elkhart, IN.  Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church.  The Rev. Karen Koelsch will officiate.  Gracielee has been cremated and her cremains will be buried at a later date.  Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
