Helen L. Alwine, 83, of Elkhart, died on Friday, March 8, 2019 at North Woods Village in Mishawaka.

She was born July 13, 1935 in Montreal, Canada to the late Sydney D. and Lillian M. (Seymour) Perez.

As Helen Perez, she married Raymond L. Alwine on March 18, 1961 in Montreal.  Raymond died on April 4, 2014.  Surviving her are two sons, Randall M. (Lisa) Alwine of Edwardsburg, MI, Michael V. (Sherry) Alwine of Mishawaka and two grandsons, Michael D. and Alexander N. Alwine.

Helen was employed for many years by The Elkhart Truth in the circulation department, retiring on January 31, 1996.  She enjoyed reading, especially while sitting in the warm sun.  She was also an animal lover and thoroughly enjoyed her grandsons.

Visitation for Helen will be held on Tuesday, March 12th from noon until the hour of the service at 2:00 P.M., all at the Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
