Helen L. Robinson, 103, of Elkhart, passed away September 1, 2018 at her home.  She was born October 23, 1914 in Elkhart to Oliver and Ada L. (Smith) Rush.  On June 27, 1942 she married Clifford H. Robinson.  He preceded her in death on December 24, 1994.

Helen played basketball for Concord High School where she graduated in 1933.  She never lost that love for the game.  She was an avid fan, and season ticket holder, of the Notre Dame women's basketball team and attended many home and away games with her son.  Helen was a member of the Elkhart First Brethren Church where she served on the visitation committee.  She was also a leader for Bible Study Fellowship. She was a strong determined woman.  She always planted a large vegetable garden every year to compliment her meals.  She was known for her beautiful flower gardens as well.  Helen enjoyed entertaining her grandsons each summer and holidays.  She enjoyed trips with her son, including camping at 102 years old.  She was also known for her fashionable style, with everything matching.  She was the caregiver for all her siblings in their later years.

Left to cherish her memory are her children:  Linda K. Robinson, Goshen, Susan L. Barkman, Greenville, SC, John H. Robinson, Bristol, and two Grandsons: J. David Barkman, Jr., Greenville, SC and Andrew R. Barkman, Parma, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings: Neva West, DeVere Misener, Velda West, Thelma Stettler, P. Kenneth Rush and Howard E. Rush.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at 2 PM, at Hartzler Gutermuth Inman Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Garner officiating.  Burial will be in Rice Cemetery.  Visitation is from 1 PM until the time of service on Wednesday.
