James G. Howe, 64, of Elkhart, died on Monday, September 14, 2026, at Riverside Village in Elkhart.

He was born November 13, 1961, in Elkhart to the late James and Evelyn (McCulley) Howe. Also preceding him in death is a brother, Charles W. Howe.

Jim is survived by a brother, Douglas A. Howe of Edwardsburg and a sister, Nancy L. (Brian) Mercer of Florida.

James was previously employed by Alco Tools as a sharpener and most recently was employed as a forklift driver with Homan Lumber Mart. He played baseball when he was younger and enjoyed computers, trains, playing video games and collecting record albums and stamps.

Visitation for Jim will be held from 4-6 on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at the Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place and he will be laid to rest with his mother at Rice Cemetery at a later date.
