James D. Schenk II, 59, of Bristol died unexpectedly at home on Thursday March 3, 2016.
Jim was born on August 31, 1956 in Elkhart to James D. and Kathryn (Dilorenzo) Schenk.
Surviving are three children: Jammie (Tony) Butler of Granger; Justin (Amanda) Schenk of Bristol; Brandon Schenk of Washington, D.C.; his parents, Jim and Katie of Elkhart: four grandchildren, Charlie and Vinny Butler and Garret and Carley Schenk; a sister, Cindy Schenk of Elkhart; two brothers, Mitch Schenk of Elkhart and David (Camie) Schenk of Elkhart and his faithful hunting dog, Amica. Jim also leaves many cousins, nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.
Jim worked for many years in the family business with his dad and brothers, forming Plasticraft and then Plastic Form. Most recently, he was self-employed in the real estate market. Jim was a champion racquetball player, having won many championships in various age groups from 1996 until the present time. He was also a member of Pheasants Forever, enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. His one true love was his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored. He was a strong man yet very kindhearted and compassionate. He will be missed but never forgotten.
Visitation for Jim will be held Monday, March 7th from 3 to 7 at the Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 8th at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home and burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola.
