Jerrold E. "Jerry" Bushong, 92, of Elkhart died at Woodland Manor on December 16, 2020. He was born January 6, 1928 to the late Paul E. and Hulda F. (Cripe) Bushong.

Jerry is a graduate of Elkhart High School.  He married Maralynn Heminger on September 24, 1950. Jerry entered the US Marine Corp in 1951 and served his country during the Korean Conflict.

Jerry was a 50 year member of the Tyrian Lodge #718 F & A.M. and a member of the Valley of South Bend Scottish Rite. He volunteered at Koop 65, the Salvation Army, and the YWCA Senior Center. He was also a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church.  He was employed by Conrail for 43 years. He retired from there in 1989. Jerry enjoyed traveling and working in schools with children.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 70 years, Maralynn and eight nieces and nephews. A memorial service and entombment for Jerry will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials in Jerry's name can be made to the St. Paul's United Methodist Church 405 W. Beardsley Ave. Elkhart, IN 46514.
