Joanne Dolbee, 96, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Brickyard Healthcare in Mishawaka.

She was born April 29, 1930, in Juneau, WI, a daughter of the late Edward and Teresa (Batterberry) McDonald. She grew up in Mason, MI, graduating from Mason High School in 1948. Joanne had lived in the Michiana area since 1959 and retired from Miles Laboratories (Bayer) in Elkhart in 1995 after 23 years of service.

Joanne was preceded in death by her sister, Sharon Hodge, her brothers, Tom and Denny McDonald and a granddaughter, Ann Dolbee. She is survived by her sister, Marlene Hope of Holt, MI; her children, Jon (Debbie) Dolbee of White Pigeon, MI, Bill (Sue Peecher) of Grayslake, IL, Pat (Cathy) Dolbee of Cassopolis, MI, Andraya Dolbee of Baltimore, MD and Dawn (Charles) Walter of Ramsey, NJ. Also surviving are grandchildren, Ben, Sam (Arianne), Joe, Alice, Claire (Erin), Ella and Maisie and her brand-new great granddaughter, Simone. Joanne was devoted to her children and to her large, extended family. She especially loved being “Aunt Jo” to her many beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Joanne will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, from 10 am until 12 noon at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home where the Holy Rosary will be prayed at 12:00 pm. Joanne will be laid to rest with her parents in Maple Grove Cemetery in Mason, MI.
