Joseph Francis Booher, Jr., 92, of Elkhart, died Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Hubbard Hill Estates. Joseph was born to Joseph Francis Booher Sr. and Florence M. (Gross) Booher on July 14, 1923 in Logansport, Indiana. Joseph married Marcelle E. Louchart on September 8, 1984 in Elkhart. She preceded him in death on November 29, 2013. He is also preceded by a son, Ronald L. Booher, a brother and a sister. Joseph is survived by granddaughters Kristen and Taylor Booher of Indianapolis, a sister, Joann Mucker, Logansport, and a niece Virginia Lough, Bristol. Joseph served for 20 years as a member of the US Army. He was a veteran of World War II, where he stationed in the European Theater, and the Korean Conflict. Joseph retired after 20 years at GTE. Friends may call from 11 am until the time of 1 pm service, Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home with Father Jason Frieburger officiating. Burial will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church or the Salvation Army.
