Joyce M. Rand, 83, of Elkhart, died Friday, September 29, 2017 at Elkhart General Hospital.  She was born October 27, 1933 in Wortham, Texas to Edward and Mildred (Miller) Magouirk.

She married Phillip Gordon Rand August 14, 1955.  He preceded her in death on November 4, 2000.

Joyce loved to cook, entertain, and was famous for her meatballs.  She was the choir director at Calvary United Methodist Church for many years, taught voice and was active in the Civic Theatre

Surviving are her children:  Bruce Rand (Dorothy), Naples, Fl., Steven Rand (Laura), Elkhart, Brenda Johnson, Elkhart, Sisters:  Louise Coleman, Duncanville, Tx, Carol Huffman, Ennis, Tx

Grandchildren:  Fred, John, Michael, Jacqueline, Theresa, Madeline, and Abigail.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 3, 2017, from 5-7, at Hartzler Gutermuth Inman Funeral Home.  A Memorial Service will be held at 7 pm on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Calvary United Methodist Church.  Burial will be at a later date in Rice Cemetery.
