Judy L. Carter, 93, of Elkhart, died Friday, June 2, 2017, at I.U. Health Goshen Hospital.

Judy was born on October 16, 1923 in Frankfort to Ray and Ruth Collins. On September 3, 1943, she married Donald E. Carter, Jr. He preceded her in death on October 16, 1995.

Surviving is a daughter Janet Burdick (Glenn), Elkhart; son, Donald "Nick" Carter (Janet), Elkhart; 2 grandchildren, Jodi Kinzel and John Law (Sue); 3 great-grandchildren, Mary Kinzel, Katie and Madison Law.

Judy was preceded in death by brothers Walter and Richard Collins, and a sister Alyce Brewer.

Judy retired from Elkhart County Court Services. She was a volunteer for 12 years as a receptionist in the Elkhart County Probation Department.

She was a member of the Elkhart Chapter Eastern Star 181 and a former member of Kappa Sigma Tau, Four Arts, Elkhart Hospital Auxiliary and Central Christian Church.

There will be no visitation or services. Cremation has taken place.
