Kevin A. Kiefer, 57, of Elkhart, passed away in his home on Saturday, March 2, 2024.
Kevin was a loving, devoted father to his children, Elaine and Bobby Kiefer, and was actively involved in their daily lives. He was a fan of the Chicago Blackhawks and Notre Dame, Van Halen, Pink Floyd, Hall and Oates and Steely Dan. Kevin was old-school, with a heart of gold, who lived by the Golden Rule.
Kevin was born February 24, 1967, in Elkhart, the seventh child born to Robert and Betty (Haines) Kiefer. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Kiefer Jr.
Survivors include his children, Elaine and Bobby Kiefer and also surviving Kevin is his former wife and the mother of his children, Merridith Paul. Kevin is survived by his siblings; Deborah (Mike) Martin, Pamela (Jeff) Kendell, Stephen, Theresa and James (Cathy) Kiefer.
Kevin was employed at Bristol Tool and Die and had previously worked at Conn-Selmer and Kiefer Manufacturing Company. He was a 1985 graduate of Concord High School where he played football for the state championship runner-up team.
He was also a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elkhart where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 10 am. Father Glenn Kohrman will officiate and burial will be in St. Vincent Cemetery. Visitation for Kevin will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 5 pm until 7 pm at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home where the Holy Rosary will be recited at 7 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given in Kevin's name to the St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery restoration fund in care of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church 1108 S. Main St. Elkhart, IN 46516.
