Obituary

LaMar D. Fletcher, 90, of Elkhart, died Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Elkhart Hospice House.

LaMar was born on October 16, 1926 in Elkhart to Leland P. and Marjorie (Syson) Fletcher. LaMar is survived by his wife, Donnabelle (Goodman) Fletcher; daughter, Gloria Davis, Phoenix, AZ; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; half-sister, Heloise Almasri, Elkhart; half-brothers, Ronald, Reggie, Tom (Patty) and Bill Fletcher, all of Elkhart.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Coffing; sisters, Juanita McFall and Patricia Pixley, and brothers, Le Von E. Fletcher and Charles F. Fletcher.

LaMar served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was employed as a Plumber and pipefitter at Miles Laboratories for 43 years, before retiring in 1988.

LaMar was a member of Prairie Street Mennonite Church.

Friends may call from 4 pm until 6 pm, Tuesday, January 10, 2016 at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home and from 10 am until the 11 am funeral service on, Wednesday, January 11, 2016 at Prairie Street Mennonite Church with Reverend Nelson Kraybill officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery.
