Lucille Sheppard, 90, of Elkhart, died Sunday September 18, 2016 at Golden Living Center. Lucille was born on September 6, 1926 in Pocahontas, Arkansas to Rob Taylor and Oma Smith.

She moved to Elkhart in 1946, and married Grant G. Sheppard on March 30, 1946. Lucille was a domestic worker for over 20 years. She joined Canaan Baptist Church and was a member there until 1994. She faithfully supported Full Gospel Fellowship Church until her death, under the leadership of Pastor Herman D. Washington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Charles McClain, Springfield, Missouri and step-son, Eugene Sheppard, Elkhart.

Left to cherish her memory are son, Ronnie Sheppard, Cincinnati, OH and step daughter, Rosie Lewins, Indianapolis; granddaughter Vernice Moore-Gore, Elkhart; Grandson, Jason G. Sheppard (Henrietta), Cincinnati, OH; Great-grandchildren, Nakaila, Sydnee, and Kendrick; cousins, Jimmy Herron and Mary Ann Herron, Springfield, Missouri.

Lucille was loved by many and will be truly missed.

Friends may call from 10 am until the 11 am service, Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rice Cemetery.
