Lyle W. Pegg, 92, of Bristol died Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Riverside Village in Elkhart.

Lyle was born January 31, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Elmer J. and Celia (Basing) Pegg.

After high school, Lyle joined the United States Navy.  After his military tenure, the railroad life called to Lyle.  Employed by NY Central, Penn, and Conrail, Lyle retired as Yardmaster in 1989 after 42 ½ years.

On September 25, 1955 he married Mary "Mazie" Holding and together they have celebrated over 63 years of marriage.  Lyle loved his family, gardening, and the model railroad club.

Besides Lyle's parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Mary Ellen Glanders. Left to cherish Lyle, is his wife, Mazie Pegg; his son Edward W. Pegg of Middlebury; Cindy (Chet) Olson of Sunset, Louisiana; four grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and her sister, Fern Cox of Elkhart.

Visitation for Lyle will be Friday January 31, 2020 from 5PM-7PM at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home.  Private family graveside services will be held.
