M. Evelyn Stoner, 98, of Tucson, AZ, formerly of Elkhart, died on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Via Elegante Assisted Living in Tucson.

Evelyn was born in LaGrange County, IN on May 10, 1925, to the late E. Ray and Anna K. (Shafer) Reichard.  She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Phillip and Charles Reichard.

On February 18, 1950, she married L. Eugene Stoner in LaGrange.  Eugene died on June 2, 2000.  She is survived by a daughter, Patricia A. (William Thornton) Gaither of Tucson; one grandson, Aaron P. Smith; three great grandchildren: Jacob, Domonic and Austin Smith; one sister, Janet Reichard of Venice, FL and one brother, Alan R. (Mona) Reichard of Freeport, MI.

Evelyn graduated from the Elkhart Business University and worked for several area businesses during her career.  She was a life member of the Moose Lodge, where she was actively involved with the Women of the Moose and she was a life member of the DAV, Auxiliary.

Visitation for Evelyn will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, from 4 pm until 6 pm at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home.  Private graveside services will be held at Rice Cemetery.
