Obituary

Marilyn L. McIntire, 82, of Elkhart, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Eastlake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Elkhart.

She was born on October 7, 1941, in Elkhart, to the late Lewis H. and Hazel (Grohn) McIntire.  Marilyn is survived by her niece, Lori McIntire and her nephew, Mark McIntire.

Marilyn graduated from Elkhart High School in 1959.  She then attended Indiana University in Bloomington where she earned her associates degree in 1961.  She then went to work for Miles Laboratories where she was employed for 37 years as an administrative secretary as well as being an assistant to the attorneys at Miles.  She was a dedicated Republican party volunteer, secretary for the Walnut Trails Condo Association, a volunteer for Big Brothers/Big sisters.  She was also a member of the Belles National Secretary Association.  Marilyn loved decorating, was a very good friend and enjoyed planning the girls travel trips.  She was a faithful IU basketball and football fan.  She was especially fond of her Bichon Frise.

Visitation for Marilyn will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home.  Marilyn has chosen cremation and her cremains will be buried at a later date.
